Firefly once again teamed up with VS Theatre to premiere a play by Itamar Moses to LA – this time presenting his romantic comedy COMPLETENESS – and once again garnered praise from press and audiences alike. The hit production was directed by Philadelphia’s multi-Barrymore Award-nominee and F. Otto Haas Award-winning director Matt Pfeiffer and featured Emily Swallow, Steven Klein, Rob Nagle, and Nicole Erb. In COMPLETENESS, Elliot, a computer scientist, builds a computer program to help Molly, a molecular biologist, with her research project, only to find that the variables in their relationship shift as rapidly as their experiment. Elliot and Molly “meet cute” at complicated times in their love and personal lives, and, in their professional collaboration as problem-solving scientists, they grapple with the unsolvable nature of life’s biggest equation: how to pair.
The show featured the work of an award-winning design team lead by Set Designer Darcy Scanlin. Lighting and Projection Design was by three-time Dean Goodman Award recipient Tom Ontiveros. Sound Design was by Jason Tuttle, Costume Design was by Rachel Myers, and Props Design was by Stephen Rowan. The show was stage managed by Samantha Franco. COMPLETENESS was produced by Johnny Clark and Tommy Dunn for VS. Theatre Company and Natalia Duncan Macker for Firefly. Full press packet, program, and photos are available here.
